Donna Mae's swirly background was an experiment in depicting the drape and swirl of the bottom of a wedding dress, which turned into this different happy quilt.

The flowers add a delightful whimsy to this piece. The unusual color palette harmonizes well with the composition. Excellent use of decorative yarns to accentuate flowers and quilt edge! I wouldn't change a thing.
I like this piece; it reminds me of the colorful 1960's, such as a Peter Max poster. The range of values are fairly similar, though, and I would like to see a darker red violet to create a wider range in values.
Nicely done...good job! I know this isn't what you were going for...but I would love to see a bit of drama in this piece with a few bits of black thrown in...perhaps as shadows to parts of the curves or flowers. Cynthia
