December challenge at the Quilter's Studio: Inspired by a book or movie and wonky styling with different edge finish

Challenge #4 December 12th/due January 9th

Create a small art quilt with these 3 ideas and bring to next meeting for show and tell

1. Inspired by favorite book or movie
2. Wonky or Quirky styling
3. Use an edge finishing new to you.

Book or Movie Inspiration
· Use the first or last line of your book as your inspiration
· Open the book to a random page and use anything on that page for inspiration
· Use the genre of the book or movie in general
· Use the story line or a character as inspiration
· Use the cinematography or costumes in the movie as inspiration
· Use the time period as inspiration

Wonky or Quirky styling:
· Think offset, tilted and the opposite of neat and tidy
· Think lively or unexpected
· Think exaggerated
· Think odd or whimsical
· Consider doing a new take on one of your pieces

Edge Finishing:
· Facing
· Binding with unusual fabric or pieced fabric
· Fused shaped binding
· Edge stitching by machine or by hand
· Couched fibers
· Ribbons and trims
· Burnt edges
· Fringe
· Beading
