This is a very creative, novel setting for the painted callas--a clever way to expand upon a class project, making it into a unique and personal artwork. From the photo, it looks like there are seams or lines of satin stitching in the blue background that caused small ripples to form. To avoid this problem, try using a tear away stabilizer behind the piece next time.

I'm glad you used your artistic eye for the layout and threadwork...it really makes the piece. I would quilt the background to smooth it out but mainly to make the flowers pop by pushing the background back.
