The colors and texture in this piece are very striking. To carry out the trail theme, I would consider adding half of a tree (the right hand half) or a woodsy animal at the left edge of the quilt.
The texture you have achieved with your quilting is really great. I do find however that the colors tend to run into one another. Possibly you could have added another element with contrasting colors to the left side somehow. That would also balance your trail sign and maybe give more dimension.
