Steampunk Challenge

The Quilters Studio – Art Quilt Challenge           Challenge #32                    STEAMPUNK                      Feb 9^th / due Mar 9^th   

         

Inspired by the literary genre of imaginary Victorian-era technology (alternative histories)…Think Jules Vernes and HG Wells.   A mix of romance and science.  Some common elements are:  clocks, gauges, gears, pipes, springs, dirigibles, hot air balloons, trains, mechanical devices/inventions, ingenious contraptions, top hats, goggles, lace, filigree, flourishes, unusual animals as pets (octopus, spider, bear, whale, winged creatures, etc), murkiness (it was the gaslight era), lots of metallic colors-copper, brass, rust, & grays.  Google Steampunk and go to the images tab to see tons of examples.
