2014 Summer Challenge                        Collecting             May 10th / due Sept 13^th

Your assignment for the summer is to COLLECT.  We’ll talk about what we are going to do with what you collect in September.

Choose one or more of these to COLLECT

·         Textures

·         Patterns

·         Color Schemes

Look around you!

Record your collection with quick sketches, colored pencil drawings, photos that you take or images from the internet or magazines.

Collect only what YOU find interesting.  You don’t have to love it, just find it fascinating.

Put your collected items in a folder, manila envelope, a sketch book or create a Pinterest board.

Bring several of your favorites to the September meeting to share.

Optional Challenge:  make a baby quilt to donate to charity…we will collect in September.  It can be just the quilt top, it doesn’t have to be quilted.

HAND DYE CLASS on Saturday July 12^th 1-5 p.m.  At Cynthia’s house in Boulder   cost $40.  Please rsvp by July 1^st

This will be a free form class for you to learn some new techniques (shibori, screen printing, color wheel dyeing, tray dyeing, discharge, overdyeing, resists, etc) or to replenish your hand dyes stash or to just play!  All materials provided except fabric, gloves and a bucket to carry your fabulous creations home.
