Challenge 55 - Origami and Fabric Manipulation
Origami is the art of paper folding. Orinuno is the art of fabric folding. The major difference between paper and fabric is that fabric is softer and won't hold creases well, so corners will be rounded and softer (unless you use fabric stiffener). Fabric manipulation consists of gathers, folds, pleats, tucks, shirring and a myriad of other sewing techniques to create interest, dimension and shape.
Let's try using fabric folding or manipulation in a piece, whether it be just a touch of it or a lot of it!
There is a great exhibit at Longmont Art Museum showing contemporary origami: Above the Fold: New Expressions in Origami February 13, 2016 - May 1, 2016 http://www.longmontcolorado.gov/departments/departments-e-m/museum/exhibitions/above-the-fold
