Challenge 10 Quilts: Connie's Butterfly

Connie started this piece in a recent Sharon Scholtzhauer workshop about using pen and ink for shading, depth and texture

Skillful execution of fusing and inking techniques. The addition of the narrow orange border adds interest to the otherwise monotonous green background and ties in well with the butterfly's colors. Nice work!

Slight wrinkling along the right hand border seam may be due to stretching of the orange fabric during sewing; it can probably be quilted out.

Colors and polka dot black and white are very effective. Would love to see the butterfly in context rather than floating...a twig or flower would bring it to life. I realize this was a learning piece, so that comment is just FYI. It's beautifully done!
