Hand Dyeing Classes this Summer

Two classes for Hand Dyed Fabrics are available this summer in my Boulder backyard: A technique sampler class and a gradations/shibori class. The Class fee is $40 each and includes lunch as well as the dyes and chemicals you'll need to dye 5 to 20 yards of fabric.


1. Hand Dyed Fabrics Sampler Class - Saturday July 23th 10 a.m to 2 p.m.


*Ann Johnston’s low water immersion techniques: Mottled colors, Stacked multiple colors


*Ellen Anne Eddy’s techniques: Sponge and pour, Background with Light source


*Tray Dyeing techniques: Folding, Scrunching



2. Hand Dyed Fabrics Gradations and Shibori Class - Saturday August 13th 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

*Value Gradations: Multiple pieces, one bucket, Multiple pieces separately with various dilutions

*Shibori: Tie Dye, Pole wrapped, Knotted, Pebble tied, Clamped

Supply list will be sent....but it mainly consists of 5-20 yards PFD 100% cotton fabric depending on how much yardage you want to get. We'll be using fat quarters or half yards or full yards to get 20 different hand dyed pieces in each class. I will have PFD fabric for sale if you need it.
